Partenope is a woman named after her city. Is she a mermaid or a myth? In Greek myth, Partenope is the mermaid who committed suicide after failing to enchant Odysseus. Her body was washed up on the site of the Castel dell’Ovo, and so she gave her name to the city that would later become Neapolis, Naples. Paolo directing Gary is a 10/10. Great movie. Amazing director and amazing actor. Gary Oldman definitely carried the entire movie and Paolo Sorrentino made a great choice in casting Gary Oldman as John Cheever. The story is good. The movie is typically Artsy Fartsy like all things Paolo Sorrentino. John Cheever is a great character played by the amazing Gary Oldman and his character definitely made the movie great. This movie is definitely worth watching if you like Gary Oldman or arthouse fart movies. Paolo Sorrentino is a great director and the movie made me think about myself. It is truly an underrated masterpiece.
