It follows three very different families who compete to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they believe will solve all their problems. Dennis Leary and Ray Romano appeared in the Ice Age franchise (2002 to present). I was surprised that the show was rated as low as it is, but it made more sense when I saw a lot of reviews explaining how they didn’t make it past the first season. The show is a slow-burn mystery novel that may not be for everyone. I personally found it witty and entertaining with a distinct Lisa Feldman tone that I love. I really like the cast and everyone’s performances. I wasn’t sold on Ray Romano at first because of my prejudices (I couldn’t separate him from Everybody Loves Raymond for the life of me), but that changed pretty quickly. All the different characters have their own side stories that create a tangled web of chaos that slowly, if not completely, unravels. By the last episode, I was pretty invested in the story, despite the fact that the main plot was developed very early on. I’m not mad about it, though. I’d love to see more of this show and I really hope they get a second season. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly – here’s a whole bunch of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
